अनरहहते यद् ददाति न ददाति यदर्हते । अह्निहपिरिज्ञानाद दानधर्मो5पि दुष्कर:
anarhate yad dadāti na dadāti yadarhate | ajñānāt pātriparijñānād dānadharmo 'pi duṣkaraḥ ||
ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਕਸਰ ਅਣਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਯੋਗ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ। ਪਾਤਰ-ਅਪਾਤਰ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਅਗਿਆਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਦਾਨ-ਧਰਮ ਵੀ ਔਖਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਗਲਤ ਦਾਨ ਪੁੰਨ ਨਹੀਂ, ਦੋਸ਼ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ।
