धन-यज्ञ-दानविवेकः
Wealth, Sacrifice, and Disciplined Giving
चतुष्पदी हि नि:श्रेणी ब्रह्मण्येव प्रतिष्ठिता । तां क्रमेण महाबाहो यथावज्जय पार्थिव
catuṣpadī hi niḥśreṇī brahmaṇy eva pratiṣṭhitā | tāṁ krameṇa mahābāho yathāvaj jaya pārthiva ||
ਹੇ ਮਹਾਬਾਹੁ ਭੂਪਾਲ! ਬ੍ਰਹਮਚਰਯ, ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਥ, ਵਾਨਪ੍ਰਸਥ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਨਿਆਸ—ਇਹ ਚਾਰੇ ਆਸ਼੍ਰਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ-ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਾਰ ਪੌੜੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਵੇਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਿਤ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਯਥਾਵਿਧਿ, ਪਾਰ ਕਰ।
