Adhyāya 2: Nārada’s Disclosure—Karṇa’s Training and the Brahmin’s Curse (Śānti-parva)
ब्र्मास्त्रं वेत्तुमिच्छामि सरहस्यनिवर्तनम् । अर्जुनेन समं चाहं युध्येयमिति मे मति:
brahmāstraṁ vettum icchāmi sa-rahasya-nivartanam | arjunena samaṁ cāhaṁ yudhyeyam iti me matiḥ |
ਨਾਰਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— “ਗੁਰੁਦੇਵ! ਮੈਂ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਸਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਛੱਡਣ ਅਤੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਖਿੱਚ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਭੇਦ ਸਮੇਤ ਜਾਣਨਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰਾ ਨਿਸਚਯ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਾਨ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਯੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਸਕਾਂ। ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸਨੇਹ ਸ਼ਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ—ਸਭ ਲਈ ਇਕੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੋ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਇਹ ਨਾ ਕਹਿਣ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਸਭ ਅਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ।”
