अद्यैक॑ दिवसं विप्रा न वो5स्तीह भयं क्वचित् | राक्षसे भ्य: प्रमोदध्वमिष्टतो यात माचिरम्
adyaikaṁ divasaṁ viprā na vo ’stīha bhayaṁ kvacit | rākṣasebhyaḥ pramodadhvam iṣṭato yāta mā ciram, rājan |
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— “ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣੋ! ਅੱਜ—ਇਸ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਲਈ—ਇੱਥੇ ਰਾਖਸ਼ਸਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਿਤੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹੋਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਜਲਦੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨਚਾਹੇ ਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਓ; ਦੇਰੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਰਾਜਨ।”
