निश्चय: स्वार्थशास्त्रेषु विश्वासश्वासुखोदय: । उशना चैव गाथे डे प्रह्लादायाब्रवीत्‌ पुरा

Transliteration

brahmadatta uvāca | niścayaḥ svārthaśāstreṣu viśvāsaś ca asukhodayaḥ | uśanā caiva gāthe dve prahlādāyābravīt purā |

Translation

ਨੀਤਿ-ਸ਼ਾਸਤਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਨਿਸਚਿਤ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਉਤਪੱਤਿ-ਕਾਰਕ ਹੈ। ਪੁਰਾਤਨ ਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ਼ਨਾ (ਸ਼ੁਕ੍ਰਾਚਾਰਯ) ਨੇ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਹਲਾਦ ਨੂੰ ਇਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦੋ ਗਾਥਾਵਾਂ ਕਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
