Draupadī’s Exhortation on Rājadharma and Daṇḍa (द्रौपद्याः राजधर्मोपदेशः)
द्रौपहुवाच इमे ते भ्रातर: पार्थ शुष्यन्ते स््तोकका इव । वावाश्यमानास्तिष्ठन्ति न चैनानभिनन्दसे,कुन्तीकुमार! आपके ये भाई आपका संकल्प सुनकर सूख गये हैं; पपीहोंके समान आपसे राज्य करनेकी रट लगा रहे हैं; फिर भी आप इनका अभिनन्दन नहीं करते? ।।
Draupadī uvāca: ime te bhrātaraḥ Pārtha śuṣyante stokakā iva | vāvāśyamānās tiṣṭhanti na cainān abhinandase, Kuntīkumarā ||
ਦ੍ਰੌਪਦੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਪਾਰਥ! ਤੇਰੇ ਇਹ ਭਰਾ ਛੋਟੇ-ਛੋਟੇ ਤਲਾਬਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਸੁੱਕਦੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਮੀਂਹ ਲਈ ਤਰਸਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਕਰਾਹਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਖੜੇ ਹਨ—ਤੈਨੂੰ ਰਾਜ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਲਈ ਆਖਦੇ; ਪਰ ਹੇ ਕੁੰਤੀਪੁੱਤਰ, ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਨੰਦਨ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ!
