स तु कामान्मृगो राजन्नासाद्यासाद्य तं नृपम् । पुनरभ्येति जवनो जवेन महता ततः
sa tu kāmān mṛgo rājann āsādya-āsādya taṃ nṛpam | punar abhyeti javano javena mahatā tataḥ ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਉਹ ਮਿਰਗ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਇੱਛਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਵਾਰ ਵਾਰ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਹਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ; ਸੁਭਾਵ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੇਜ਼ਗਾਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਵੇਗ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੜ ਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
