दूषितं परदोषै्हिं गृह्नीते योडन्यथा शुचिम् । स्वयं संदूषितामात्य: क्षिप्रमेव विनश्यति
dūṣitaṃ paradoṣaiḥ gṛhṇīte yo 'nyathā śucim | svayaṃ saṃdūṣitāmātyaḥ kṣipram eva vinaśyati ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜੋ ਰਾਜਾ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਾਏ ਝੂਠੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਕੇ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਮੰਤਰੀਆਂ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਰੇਸ਼ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ; ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅਨਿਆਂਈ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਰਾਜਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਹੀ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
