Measured Policy and the Recognition of Malicious Disposition
अमित्रमुपसेवेत विश्वस्तवदविश्वसन् । प्रियमेव वदेन्नित्यं नाप्रियं किंचिदाचरेत्
amitrām upaseveta viśvastavad aviśvasan | priyam eva vaden nityaṁ nāpriyaṁ kiñcid ācaret ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ— ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੀ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ ਭਰੋਸੇਯੋਗ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਂਗ ਵੈਰੀ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੇ। ਸਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਹੀ ਬੋਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਕਰਤੂਤ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ।
