अमित्रा एव राजानं भेदेनोपचरन्त्युत । तां राजा निकृतिं जानन्‌ यथामित्रान्‌ प्रबाधते

Transliteration

amitrā eva rājānaṃ bhedenopacaranti ca | tāṃ rājā nikṛtiṃ jñātvā yathāmitrān prabādhate ||

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਜੋ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਪਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਉਪਰੋਂ-ਉਪਰੋਂ ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਰਾਜੇ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਰਾਜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਸ ਧੋਖੇਬਾਜ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਕੇ, ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਦਬਾਏ।
