(Yamasabhā-varṇanam) — Nārada’s Description of Dharmarāja’s Assembly
jvalantī bhāsamānā ca tejasā svena bhārata | tām ugratapaso yānti suvratāḥ satyavādinaḥ ||
The verse links access to an exalted, radiant space with ethical and ascetic qualifications: truthfulness (satya), disciplined vows (vrata), and austerity (tapas). Inner moral purity is portrayed as a real power (tejas) that both illuminates the person and makes them fit to enter such a sanctified assembly.
Nārada is describing a wondrous sabhā (assembly hall) that shines by its own radiance. He states that it is approached/attained by highly disciplined, truth-speaking ascetics—implying that the hall is not merely architectural splendor but a morally charged space associated with spiritual merit.
