युधिछिर उवाच द्यूते क्षत्त: कलहो विद्यते नः को वै द्यूत॑ रोचयेद्‌ बुध्यमान: । कि वा भवान्‌ मन्यते युक्तरूपं भवद्वाक्ये सर्व एव स्थिता: सम

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | dyūte kṣattaḥ kalaho vidyate naḥ ko vai dyūtaṃ rocayed budhyamānaḥ | kiṃ vā bhavān manyate yuktarūpaṃ bhavadvākye sarva eva sthitāḥ sma ||

Translation

ਯੁਧਿਸ਼ਠਿਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਖੱਤ੍ਰ (ਵਿਦੁਰ)! ਜੂਏ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਂ ਝਗੜਾ ਤੇ ਫਸਾਦ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ; ਫਿਰ ਕੌਣ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਖੇਡ ਨੂੰ ਪਸੰਦ ਕਰੇਗਾ? ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜੋ ਯੁਕਤ ਅਤੇ ਠੀਕ ਸਮਝੋ, ਉਹ ਦੱਸੋ; ਅਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਬਚਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਖੜੇ ਹਾਂ।
