अनर्थमर्थ मन्यसे राजपुत्र संग्रन्थनं कलहस्याति घोरम्‌ । तद्‌ वै प्रवृत्तं तु यथा कथंचित्‌ सृजेदसीन्‌ निशितान्‌ सायकांश्ष

Transliteration

anartham arthaṁ manyase rājaputra saṁgranthanaṁ kalahasyāti ghoram | tad vai pravṛttaṁ tu yathā kathaṁcit sṛjed asīn niśitān sāyakāṁś ca |

Translation

ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਪੁੱਤਰ! ਤੂੰ ਜੋ ਅਸਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਹੈ, ਉਸਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਲਾਭ ਸਮਝ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈਂ। ਇਹ ਜੂਆ ਝਗੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਗੰਢ ਪਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਅਤਿ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਹ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਤਿੱਖੀਆਂ ਤਲਵਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਣਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਰਸਾਤ ਵੀ ਉੱਠ ਖੜੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
