न व्याधयो नापि यम: प्राप्तुं श्रेय: प्रतीक्षते । यावदेव भवेत् कल्पस्तावच्छेय: समाचरेत्
na vyādhayo nāpi yamaḥ prāptuṃ śreyaḥ pratīkṣate | yāvad eva bhavet kalpas tāvac chreyaḥ samācaret |
ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਨਾ ਰੋਗ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਨਾ ਯਮ; ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਯ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਤੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਤੱਕ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਲਿਆਣ (ਸ਼੍ਰੇਯ) ਦਾ ਉਪਾਅ ਕਰ ਲੈਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
