Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Saṃvāda on Restraint and Rājānīti
Chapter 50
नित्यमाज्ञापयन् भासि दिवि देवेश्वरो यथा । तस्य ते विदितप्रज्ञ शोकमूलमिदं कथम् | समुत्थितं दुःखकरं यन्मे शंसितुमरहसि
nityam ājñāpayann bhāsi divi deveśvaro yathā | tasya te viditaprajña śokamūlam idaṃ katham | samutthitaṃ duḥkhakaraṃ yan me śaṃsitum arhasi ||
ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ—ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਵਰਾਜ ਇੰਦਰ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਇਸ ਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਚਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਚਮਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ। ਤੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਜ్ఞਾ ਸਭ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਤ ਹੈ। ਫਿਰ ਇਹ ਸ਼ੋਕ-ਮੂਲ, ਦੁੱਖਦਾਇਕ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਉੱਠੀ? ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੈਂ, ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ।
