Nārada’s Examination of Royal Ethics
कच्चित् स्वनुछिता तात वार्ता ते साधुभिर्जनै: । वार्तायां संश्रितस्तात लोको5यं सुखमेधते,तात! तुम्हारे राष्ट्रमें अच्छे पुरुषोंद्वारा वार्ता--कृषि, गोरक्षा तथा व्यापारका काम अच्छी तरह किया जाता है न? क्योंकि उपर्युक्त वातवित्तिपर अवलम्बित रहनेवाले लोग ही सुखपूर्वक उन्नति करते हैं
kaccit svanucitā tāta vārtā te sādhubhir janaiḥ | vārtāyāṃ saṃśritas tāta loko ’yaṃ sukham edhate ||
ਤਾਤ! ਕੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਜਣ ਲੋਕ ‘ਵਾਰਤਾ’—ਖੇਤੀ, ਗੋਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵਪਾਰ—ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਪਜੀਵਿਕਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਿਰਭਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰਜਾ ਸੁਖ ਨਾਲ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।
