Educational Q&A

The verse foregrounds the weight of an authoritative description heard and publicly proclaimed; in an assembly context, such testimony shapes ethical deliberation and political judgment, reminding listeners to attend carefully to how claims are presented and validated.

Bhīṣma speaks in the court/assembly setting and refers to having heard a figure described with divine attributes—three eyes and four arms—indicating that a formal announcement or report has been made, setting up the next part of his response.
