हत्वा तान्‌ पुरुषव्याप्र: पज्चालानां महारथ:

Transliteration

hatvā tān puruṣavyāpraḥ pāñcālānāṃ mahārathaḥ

Translation

ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ— ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਪਾਂਚਾਲਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਰਥੀ, ਪੁਰਖ-ਵਿਆਘਰ, ਸਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਯੁੱਧ-ਕਰਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ; ਇੱਥੇ ਸ਼ੌਰਯ ਦੇ ਵਰਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਜੀਵ-ਹਰਨ ਦੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਭਾਰ ਦੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਵੀ ਹੈ।
