Even in a battlefield narrative, the text signals that victory is not only a matter of strength but is interpreted through the lens of dharma and cosmic order; Indra’s benediction implies a moral alignment that frames the duel’s outcome as significant beyond personal rivalry.
Sañjaya reports that when Karna and Arjuna come face to face for their decisive encounter, Indra (Śakra) speaks a blessing—wishing Arjuna’s victory over Karna—highlighting the moment’s gravity and the sense of divine attention upon the duel.
