दोनोंके कर्म विख्यात थे। युद्धमें पुरुषार्थ और बलकी दृष्टिसे दोनों ही शम्बरासुर और देवराज इन्द्रके समान थे ।।
kārtavīrya-samau cobhau tathā dāśaratheḥ samau | viṣṇu-vīrya-samau cobhau tathā bhava-samau yudhi ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਦੋਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਤੱਬ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਸਨ। ਜੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੌਰਖ ਅਤੇ ਬਲ ਦੇ ਹਿਸਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸ਼ੰਬਰ ਅਸੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਵਰਾਜ ਇੰਦਰ ਵਰਗੇ ਸਨ। ਰਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਕਾਰਤਵੀਰਯ ਅਰਜੁਨ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ, ਦਸ਼ਰਥ-ਨੰਦਨ ਸ਼੍ਰੀਰਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ, ਵਿਸ਼ਣੂ ਦੇ ਵੀਰਯ ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਭਵ (ਸ਼ਿਵ) ਦੇ ਸਮਾਨ ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮੀ ਸਨ।
