कर्णनिधनवृत्तान्तनिवेदनम् | Reporting Karṇa’s Fall to Yudhiṣṭhira

भवेत्‌ सत्यमवक्तव्यं न वक्तव्यमनुछितम्‌ । सत्यानृते विनिश्चित्य ततो भवति धर्मवित्‌,केवल अनुष्ठानमें लाया गया असत्यरूप सत्य बोलनेयोग्य नहीं होता, अतः वैसा सत्य न बोले। पहले सत्य और असत्यका अच्छी तरह निर्णय करके जो परिणाममें सत्य हो उसका पालन करे। जो ऐसा करता है, वही धर्मका ज्ञाता है

bhavet satyam avaktavyaṃ na vaktavyam anucitam | satyānṛte viniścitya tato bhavati dharmavit ||

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਸੱਚ ਵੀ ਐਸਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ; ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਅਨੁਚਿਤ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬੋਲਣਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ। ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸੱਤ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੱਤ ਦਾ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਰਣੇ ਕਰਕੇ, ਫਿਰ ਉਹੀ ਰਾਹ ਅਪਣਾਓ ਜੋ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੱਤ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੇ। ਜੋ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਜਾਣੂ ਹੈ।
