कर्णपुत्रवधः (The Fall of Vṛṣasena) — Karṇa Parva, Adhyāya 62
यदि त्वासाद्य मुच्येत विस्मय: सुमहान् भवेत् । “देखो, युद्धमें शोभा पानेवाले दुर्योधनको भीमसेनने ग्रस लिया है। यदि तुम्हें पाकर वह संकटसे छूट जाय तो यह महान् आश्वर्यकी घटना होगी
yadi tvāsādya mucyeta vismayaḥ sumahān bhavet |
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ ਜੇ ਉਸ ਸੰਕਟ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਪਾ ਲਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਚੰਭਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਵੇਖ—ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਲੱਭਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਨੂੰ ਭੀਮਸੇਨ ਨੇ ਗ੍ਰਸ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ; ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਚ ਨਿਕਲੇ, ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਅਦਭੁਤ ਘਟਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
