Bhīma’s surge and dialogue with charioteer Viśoka
sātyakis tu tataḥ kruddho drauṇeḥ praharato raṇe

The verse highlights how anger arises in response to perceived wrongdoing in war, reminding readers that even righteous warriors must contend with inner passions; the ethical tension lies in acting within kṣatriya-duty while not being consumed by wrath.
Sañjaya reports that Sātyaki becomes enraged and turns toward Drauṇi (Aśvatthāman) on the battlefield as Drauṇi is actively striking in combat, setting up a direct confrontation.
