भीष्मपातने कर्णविलापः | Karṇa’s Lament upon Seeing Bhīṣma Fallen
मोहन सर्वसैन्यस्य युधि भीष्मस्य पातनम् । ककुदं सर्वसैन्यानां लक्ष्म सर्वधनुष्मताम्
mohana sarvasainyasya yudhi bhīṣmasya pātanam | kakudaṃ sarvasainyānāṃ lakṣma sarvadhanuṣmatām
ਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਦਾ ਡਿੱਗਣਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ; ਉਹ ਸਭ ਫੌਜਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਕੁਦ (ਚੋਟੀ) ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਧਨੁਧਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਲਕਸ਼ਮੀ (ਸ਼ੋਭਾ-ਪ੍ਰਤਿਸ਼ਠਾ) ਸਨ—ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਤਨ ਕੇਵਲ ਰਣਨੀਤਕ ਪਲਟਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਨੈਤਿਕ ਤੇ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਆਨਕ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਟੁੱਟ ਸੀ।
