बह्नबद्धमकर्ण्य च चापलादपरीक्षितम् | 'सूतपुत्र! तेरी बुद्धि बहुत ओछी है। इसीलिये तू चपलतावश बिना जाँचे-बूझे बहुत-सी न सुननेयोग्य असम्बद्ध बातें बक जाया करता है
bahnabaddham akarṇya ca cāpalād aparīkṣitam |
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਚੰਚਲਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਪਰਖੇ ਕਹੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬੇਤੁਕੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਨਯੋਗ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਸੁਣਨ ਅਯੋਗ’ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ—“ਸੂਤਪੁੱਤਰ! ਤੇਰੀ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਨੀਚ ਹੈ; ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਬੇਵਿਚਾਰ ਚੰਚਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਅਨੇਕ ਅਸ਼੍ਰਾਵ੍ਯ, ਅਸੰਬੱਧ ਬਚਨ ਬਕਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ।”
