ārṣabhe carmaṇī citre pragṛhya vipule śubhe
Translation
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ: ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਮ ਬਲਦ ਦੀ ਖਾਲ ਤੋਂ ਬਣਿਆ, ਰੰਗ-ਬਿਰੰਗੇ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਿਆ, ਵਿਸ਼ਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੰਗਲਮਈ ਚਰਮ (ਢਾਲ) ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆ—ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯੁੱਧ-ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦੇ ਵਰਣਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
