भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
पतितान् विविधांश्षापांश्रित्रान् हेमपरिष्कृतान् । कुथा बहुविधाकाराश्चामरान् व्यजनानि च
sañjaya uvāca |
patitān vividhān śāpān śritrān hemapariṣkṛtān |
kuthā bahuvidhākārāś cāmarān vyajanāni ca ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਉੱਥੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਕਿਸਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਤੇ ਸਾਜ਼ੋ-ਸਾਮਾਨ ਖਿਲਰੇ ਪਏ ਸਨ, ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ। ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਿਛਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਨਾਨਾ ਕਿਸਮ ਦੀਆਂ ਢੱਕਣੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਚਾਮਰ ਤੇ ਪੱਖੇ ਵੀ ਇੱਧਰ-ਉੱਧਰ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਦਿਸਦੇ ਸਨ। ਰਾਜਸੀ ਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੁਣ ਯੁੱਧ-ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਧੂੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
