तं च दीप्तं शरं घोरमायान्तं मृत्युमात्मन: । चिच्छेद शरवृष्टिं च भारद्वाजे मुमोच ह

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | taṃ ca dīptaṃ śaraṃ ghoraṃ āyāntaṃ mṛtyum ātmanaḥ | ciccheda śaravṛṣṭiṃ ca bhāradvāje mumoca ha ||

Translation

ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਮੌਤ ਵਾਂਗ ਦੌੜਦਾ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ, ਦਹਕਦਾ ਤੀਰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਧ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਦ੍ਯੁਮਨ ਨੇ ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਡਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਫਿਰ ਭਾਰਦ੍ਵਾਜ (ਦ੍ਰੋਣ) ਉੱਤੇ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਖਾ ਛੇੜ ਦਿੱਤੀ।
