भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय 54: फल्गुन-प्रतिरोधः, सौबली-व्यूह-विध्वंसः, दुर्योधन-भीष्म-संवादः
पक्षकोटिप्रपक्षेषु पक्षान्तेषु च वारणा:
pakṣakoṭiprapakṣeṣu pakṣānteṣu ca vāraṇāḥ
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲੇ—ਹਾਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ, ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਪਾਸਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ—ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜੰਗੀ ਕਤਾਰ ਥਿਰ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਭੇਦ ਰੁਕੇ।
