तमेवमुपलक्ष्यैको हृष्ट: पुष्ट: परंतप
sañjaya uvāca | tam evam upalakṣyaiko hṛṣṭaḥ puṣṭaḥ paraṃtapa | jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਹੇ ਪਰੰਤਪ! ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੌਰਵ-ਸੈਨਾ ਦਾ ਸੰਹਾਰ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਕੇਵਲ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਹੀ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਤੇ ਦ੍ਰਿੜ੍ਹ ਹੋਇਆ। ਪਾਂਡਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁਬੋ ਕੇ, ਜੀਵਨ ਦਾ ਮੋਹ ਅਤੇ ਭੈ ਤਿਆਗ ਕੇ, ਉਹ ਮਹਾਸਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੁਰਯੋਧਨ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿਯ ਕਾਰਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੁੱਟ ਗਿਆ।
