Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
शब्दायमाने संग्रामे पटहे कर्णदारिणि | युद्धयमानस्य संग्रामे कुर्वतः पौरुषं स्वकम्
sañjaya uvāca | śabdāyamāne saṅgrāme paṭahe karṇadāriṇi | yudhyamānasya saṅgrāme kurvataḥ pauruṣaṃ svakam | jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭhaṃ tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat ||
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਜਦੋਂ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੂੰਜ ਉਠੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੀਰਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਯੁੱਧ-ਨਗਾਰਾ ਵੱਜਣ ਲੱਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਯੋਧੇ ਆਪਣਾ-ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਾਕ੍ਰਮ ਵਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਲੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਤਦ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਏ। ਉਸੇ ਪਲ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡਾ ਤੇ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨੀ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
