गौरुडव्यूह-रचना तथा अर्धचन्द्र-प्रत्यव्यूह
Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
सचापा: सनिषज्ञश्न जातरूपपरिष्कृता: । विस्रब्धहतवीराश्व॒ शतश: परिपीडिता:
sa-cāpāḥ sa-niṣaṅgāś ca jātarūpa-pariṣkṛtāḥ | visrabdha-hata-vīrāśvāḥ śataśaḥ paripīḍitāḥ || jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭhaṃ tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat |
ਸੰਜਯ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਧਨੁਸ਼ ਅਤੇ ਤੀਰ-ਤਰਕਸ਼ ਧਾਰੇ, ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਯੋਧੇ—ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੀਰ ਘੋੜੇ ਮਾਰੇ ਜਾ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਸੈਂਕੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਠੋਰ ਦਬਾਅ ਹੇਠ ਸਨ—ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਯੁੱਧ-ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਟੁੱਟ ਪਏ, ਤਦ ਉੱਥੇ ਮਹਾ ਤੂਮੁਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਭੜਕ ਉਠਿਆ।
