सम्बन्ध-- इस प्रकार भगवान्के मुखये उनके जन्मका तत्त्व युननेपर यह जिज्ञासा होती है कि आप किस-किस समय और किन-किन कारणोंसे इस प्रकार अवतार धारण करते हैं। इसपर भगवान् दो शलोकोंमें अपने अवतारके अवसर
yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata | abhyutthānam adharmasya tadātmānaṁ sṛjāmy aham ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤ! ਜਦੋਂ-ਜਦੋਂ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਹਾਨੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਉਤ्थਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦੋਂ-ਤਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
