छन््दतो मृत्युरित्येवं तस्य चास्तु वरस्तथा । धारयिष्ये ततः प्राणानुत्सगें नियते सति
chandato mṛtyur ity evaṃ tasya cāstu varas tathā | dhārayiṣye tataḥ prāṇān utsarge niyate sati ||
“ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ‘ਮੌਤ ਮੇਰੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਆਵੇ’—ਉਹ ਵਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਦਾ ਤਿਵੇਂ ਸਥਿਰ ਰਹੇ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤਿਆਗ ਦਾ ਨਿਯਤ ਵੇਲਾ ਆਉਣ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਧਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।”
