तस्य कीर्तिमतस्तात पुरा रामेण धीमता

Transliteration

tasya kīrtimatas tāta purā rāmeṇa dhīmatā |

Translation

ਸੰਜਯ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਤਾਤ! ਪੂਰਵਕਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਮ ਬੁੱਧਿਮਾਨ ਰਾਮ (ਪਰਸ਼ੁਰਾਮ) ਨੇ ਉਸ ਕੀਰਤਿਮਾਨ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਤ੍ਰੁ-ਸੈਨਾ-ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਕ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਸ਼ਿਖਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਕੁਰੂਕੁਲ ਦੇ ਵ੍ਰਿੱਧ ਪਿਤਾਮਹ, ਸ਼ਤ੍ਰੁਵੀਰ-ਹੰਤਾ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਪਾਂਡਵ ਪੱਖ ਦੀ ਸੈਨਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਦਸ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਯੋਧਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਵਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
