तां द्रोणो नवभिवणिश्रिच्छेद युधि भारत । पार्षत॑ च महेष्वासं पीडयामास संयुगे

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | tāṃ droṇo navabhir bāṇaiś ciccheda yudhi bhārata | pārṣataṃ ca maheṣvāsaṃ pīḍayāmāsa saṃyuge ||

Translation

ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤ! ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਦ੍ਰੋਣਾਚਾਰਯ ਨੇ ਨੌਂ ਤੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਟ ਕੇ ਟੁਕੜੇ-ਟੁਕੜੇ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਸਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਧਨੁਰਧਰ ਪਾਰਸ਼ਤ ਧ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਦ੍ਯੁਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰਣਭੂਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਪੀੜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
