ग्रसन्तमिव चेतांसि तावकानां महाहवे । दृष्टवा माधवमाक्रन्दे भीष्मायोद्यतमन्तिके
sañjaya uvāca | grasann iva cetāṃsi tāvakānāṃ mahāhave | dṛṣṭvā mādhavam ākrande bhīṣmāya udyatam antike |
ਸੰਜਯ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਉਸ ਮਹਾਂਯੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਾਧਵ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਨਿਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੇਤਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਨਿਗਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਐਸਾ ਲੱਗਦਾ ਸੀ। ਮਹਾਰਾਜ! ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਣਕੋਲਾਹਲ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਧਵ ਨੂੰ ਨੇੜੇ ਆ ਕੇ ਭੀਸ਼ਮ-ਵਧ ਲਈ ਉਦਯਤ ਦੇਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਵਾਸੁਦੇਵ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਨਾਲ ਚੌਫੇਰੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਾਹਾਕਾਰ ਮਚ ਗਿਆ—“ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ! ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਗਿਆ!”
