Adhyāya 104 — Śikhaṇḍin-puraskāraḥ (Śikhaṇḍin as Vanguard) and Bhīṣma’s Counter-Advance
सर्वस्त्रविदमेयात्मा वारयामास फाल्गुनि: । उस राक्षसने और भी बहुत-सी जिन-जिन मायाओंका प्रयोग किया, उन सबको सम्पूर्ण अस्त्रोंके ज्ञाता अनन्त आत्मबलसे सम्पन्न अभिमन्युने नष्ट कर दिया
sañjaya uvāca | sarvāstravid ameyātmā vārayāmāsa phālguniḥ |
ਸੰਜਯ ਬੋਲਿਆ—ਅਭਿਮਨ੍ਯੂ, ਜੋ ਸਭ ਅਸਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਗਿਆਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਾਰ ਆਤਮ-ਬਲ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਮਾਇਆਵੀ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਕੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਧੱਕ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਸ ਰਾਖਸ਼ਸ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ-ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਮਾਇਆਵਾਂ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਵਰਤੀਆਂ, ਪੂਰਨ ਅਸਤ੍ਰ-ਵਿਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੁੱਟ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਪੰਨ ਅਭਿਮਨ੍ਯੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਸਭ ਜੜ੍ਹੋਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ।
