Adhyāya 62: Marutta’s Treasure and the Pāṇḍavas’ Auspicious Departure (मरुत्तस्य धनप्राप्त्युपक्रमः)

पौत्रस्तव महाभागो जनिष्यति महामना: । पृथ्वीं सागरपर्यन्तां पालयिष्यति धर्मत:

Transliteration

pautras tava mahābhāgo janiṣyati mahāmanāḥ | pṛthvīṃ sāgaraparyantāṃ pālayiṣyati dharmataḥ |

Translation

ਹੇ ਕੁਰੂਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ! ਤੇਰਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਹਾਭਾਗਾਂ ਵਾਲਾ, ਮਹਾਨ ਮਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਪੌਤ੍ਰ ਜਨਮੇਗਾ; ਉਹ ਧਰਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ-ਪਰਯੰਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਹੇ ਸ਼ਤ੍ਰੁਸੂਦਨ, ਸ਼ੋਕ ਛੱਡ ਦੇ; ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਨਹੀਂ—ਮੇਰਾ ਬਚਨ ਸੱਚ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
