Uttaṅka’s Petition for Madayantī’s Divine Earrings (Maṇikuṇḍala) — Agreement, Proof, and Vigilance
सर्वेषामृषिपुत्राणामेष आसीन्मनोरथ: । औत्तड़कीं गुरुवृत्तिं वै प्राप्तुयामेति भारत
sarveṣām ṛṣiputrāṇām eṣa āsīn manorathaḥ | auttaṅkīṁ guruvṛttiṁ vai prāptuyāmeti bhārata bharatanandana ||
ਹੇ ਭਾਰਤਕੁਲ ਦੇ ਨੰਦਨ! ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਸਭ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ-ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਸੀ—“ਉੱਤੰਕ ਵਾਂਗ ਗੁਰੂ-ਸੇਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਰੂ-ਭਕਤੀ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਆਚਰਨ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਵੇ।”
