Educational Q&A

The verse teaches inner renunciation: rise above dualities, abandon ego and possessiveness, stop seeking validation or favor, give up ritualistic dependence, and remain unconcerned with gain and security—cultivating self-mastery.

Vāyudeva is instructing a listener in the marks of a disciplined, renunciant life—describing the qualities of one who seeks liberation through detachment and control of the mind rather than through social display or ritual performance.
