मरुत्तोपाख्यान-प्रस्तावः — Genealogy to Marutta and the Logistics of Royal Sacrifice
ततस्तानजयत् सर्वान् प्रातिसीमान् नराधिपान् | एतस्मात् कारणाद् राजन् विश्रुत: स करन्धम:
tatastān ajayat sarvān prātisīmān narādhipān | etasmāt kāraṇād rājan viśrutaḥ sa karandhamaḥ ||
ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਹੱਦਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਸਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ। ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ, ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਉਹ ‘ਕਰੰਧਮ’ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਹੋਇਆ—ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਕਰ (ਖ਼ਿਰਾਜ/ਉਤਪੀੜਨ) ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਰਹੱਦੀ ਖ਼ਤਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਵਾਰਿਆ।
