प्रकृत्यात्मकमेवाहू रज: पर्यायकारकम् । प्रवृत्तं सर्वभूतेषु दृश्यमुत्पत्तिलक्षणम्
prakṛtyātmakam evāhu rajaḥ paryāyakārakam | pravṛttaṃ sarvabhūteṣu dṛśyam utpattilakṣaṇam ||
ਰਜ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਕ੍ਰਿਤੀ-ਸਰੂਪ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ; ਇਹੀ ਪਰਿਵਰਤਨ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਤੱਤ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਸਭ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਵਿਰਤ ਦਿੱਸਦਾ ਹੈ; ਇਹ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼੍ਯ ਜਗਤ ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨੀ ਹੈ—ਉਤਪੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੰਡ ਕਿਰਿਆਸ਼ੀਲਤਾ ਹੀ ਇਸ ਦਾ ਲੱਛਣ ਹੈ।
