वर्णतो गुणतश्चैव योनितश्वैव तत्त्वतः । सर्वमेतत्तमो विप्रा: कीर्तितं वो यथाविधि,विप्रवरो! वर्ण, गुण, योनि और तत्त्वके अनुसार मैंने आपसे तमोगुणका पूरा-पूरा यथावत् वर्णन किया
varṇato guṇataś caiva yonitaś caiva tattvataḥ | sarvam etat tamo viprāḥ kīrtitaṃ vo yathāvidhi ||
ਵਾਯੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਵਿਪ੍ਰੋ, ਵਰਣ, ਗੁਣ, ਯੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਤੱਤਵ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਤਮਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਥਾਵਿਧਿ ਸੁਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
