Arjuna’s request to Krishna and the opening of the Kāśyapa–Brāhmaṇa mokṣa discourse (Āśvamedhika-parva 16)
वायुदेव उवाच श्रावितस्त्वं मया गुह्ूं ज्ञापितश्न॒ सनातनम् | धर्म स्वरूपिणं पार्थ सर्वलोकांश्व शाश्वतान्
vāyudeva uvāca | śrāvitastvaṁ mayā guhyaṁ jñāpitaś ca sanātanam | dharma-svarūpiṇaṁ pārtha sarva-lokāṁś ca śāśvatān |
ਵਾਯੁਦੇਵ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਪਾਰਥ! ਇਕ ਵਾਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤਿ ਗੁਪਤ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ-ਸਰੂਪ ਸਨਾਤਨ ਪਰਮ ਤੱਤ ਦਾ ਬੋਧ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ; ਸਦੀਵੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਵਰਣਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਅਵਿਵੇਕ-ਬੁੱਧੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਧਾਰਿਆ—ਇਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਅਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਹੈ। ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਰੀਆਂ ਯਾਦ ਆ ਜਾਣਾ ਸੰਭਵ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਦਾ।
