Adhyāya 16 — Daiva, Kṣatriya-dharma, and Public Reassurance to Dhṛtarāṣṭra

इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आश्रमवासिकपरववके अन्तर्गत आश्रमवासपर्वमें कुन्तीका वनको प्रस्थानविषयक सोलहवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ

na tasya putrāḥ pautrā vā kṣatavaṁśasya pārthiva | labhante sukṛtāllokān yasmād vaṁśaḥ praṇaśyati rājan ||

ਵੈਸ਼ੰਪਾਯਨ ਬੋਲੇ—ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ! ਜਦੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਜਵੰਸ਼ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇ ਪੌਤਰੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਂਦੇ; ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਵੰਸ਼-ਪਰੰਪਰਾ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਸਕਾਰ, ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕ-ਵਿਵਸਥਾ ਟਿਕੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹੀ ਨਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
