वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dāna and atithi-sevā—ethical generosity and hospitality—especially toward elders and those in vulnerable circumstances, offering resources without calculation and with respectful intent.
Vaiśampāyana reports a message to be conveyed to King Dhṛtarāṣṭra: he is invited to take from the speaker’s household whatever he needs and in whatever quantity, indicating support for the king during the forest-dwelling phase of the story.
