Transliteration

kuṭambiko dharmakāmaḥ sadāsvapraśca mānavaḥ

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਗ੍ਰਿਹਸਥ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਧਨਾ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਸਦਾ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਿਤ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਾਂਗ—ਆਤਮ-ਸੰਯਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਚਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਵਧਾਨ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ—ਜੀਵਨ ਬਿਤਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
