कृत्वाग्नौकरणं पूर्व मन्त्रपूर्व तपोधन । ततो5ग्नये5थ सोमाय वरुणाय च नित्यश:

Transliteration

kṛtvāgnaukaraṇaṃ pūrvaṃ mantrapūrva tapodhana | tato 'gnaye 'tha somāya varuṇāya ca nityaśaḥ ||

Translation

ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਤਪੋਧਨ! ਵੇਦ ਮੰਤ੍ਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਉਚਾਰਣ ਸਮੇਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਅਗਨੌਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ, ਫਿਰ ਨਿੱਤ ਅਗਨੀ, ਸੋਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਰੁਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਿਯਤ ਭਾਗ ਵਿਧੀਪੂਰਵਕ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰ; ਇਸ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰਕੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਆਧਾਰਭੂਤ ਦੇਵ-ਸਹਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਥਿਰ ਰੱਖ।
