Nṛga-upākhyāna: Brāhmaṇa-sva and the Consequence of Misappropriated Gift-Cattle (कृकलास-रूपे नृगोपाख्यानम्)
उपतिष्ठति कौन्तेय रौप्पकाउ्चन भूषितम् । शकटं दम्यसंयुक्तं दत्त भवति चैव हि,कुन्तीकुमार! जो नये बैलोंसे युक्त शकट दान करता है, उसे चाँदी और सोनेसे जटित रथ प्राप्त होता है
upatiṣṭhati kaunteya raupyakāñcana-bhūṣitam | śakaṭaṁ damya-saṁyuktaṁ dattaṁ bhavati caiva hi ||
ਭੀਸ਼ਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ—ਹੇ ਕੌਂਤੇਯ! ਜੋ ਨਵੇਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਸ਼ਿਖਿਆ ਬੈਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਗੱਡੀ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫਲ ਵਜੋਂ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਤੇ ਸੋਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਜਿਆ ਰਥ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
